(TargetLiberty.org) – Republican representatives from the House are seeking to question over a dozen individuals involved in the investigations into Hunter Biden. Their goal is to scrutinize the potential lack of impartial enforcement of law.
Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, has submitted a plea deal, pending judicial approval. If given the green light, he will plead guilty to charges relating to tax evasion within a specific timeframe. Likely, he will sidestep incarceration for the two counts in this case. Additionally, Hunter Biden faces charges in a separate firearms case, which he plans to address through a diversion program, contingent upon meeting specific conditions, leading to probable dismissal of the charges.
In light of this agreement, a discussion transcript featuring IRS whistleblower, Gary Shapley, has been made public. Shapley alleges in this transcript that Biden received preferential treatment during the investigation.
Now, the three Republican committee leaders are requesting an audience with David Weiss, the U.S. attorney for Delaware who spearheaded the investigation into Biden, and his deputy, Lesley Wolf. They also intend to review the case with the U.S. Attorney for D.C., Matthew Graves, whom Shapley accuses of advocating against charges being pressed against Biden in D.C.
Officials from the FBI, IRS, and Department of Justice will be questioned in the wake of these disclosures.
The request directed towards Attorney General Garland was authored by Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), and Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith (R-Mo.).
