(TargetLiberty.org) Fox News host Laura Ingraham slammed Marjorie Taylor Greene for promoting the idea of a “national divorce”, that is a separation between the Democratic and Republican states. Ingraham stated that a “national divorce” was the last thing the nation needed.

On Tuesday, Greene put out her proposal saying that the states should be given all power while the U.S. federal government should only be responsible for defense and border security. Ingraham during her Fox News shows a day later said that it does not make sense for Americans to want to embrace certain states, like the ones that “gave us Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton” but not the ones that “gave us Reagan and Trump.” She added that America did not need a “breakup.”

Ingraham’s comment pointed out that Georgia and Arkansas which are traditionally red states are where two former Democrat presidents -Carter and Clinton respectively- came from. Meanwhile, Reagan was born in Illinois while Trump lived in New York, a traditionally blue state. She added that even if the Democrats are choosing to give up on the nation, Republicans should not follow them and give up on the country or the many blue states that provided good things to America.

She added that there are people in Illinois, New York, California, and Washington State “who don’t want to move” but rather are trying to get different leadership in their own states. She finally added that Greene’s proposal would provide ammunition against the Republicans for the 2024 election.
