Federal Aviation Administration Can’t Stop DeSantis’ Migrant Flights
(TargetLiberty.org) – Northern Democrats were appalled earlier this year when Texas started busing illegal immigrants to New York and Washington, DC. They really started to panic when Florida joined in and flew a plane load of illegals to Martha’s Vineyard, the upscale Massachusetts resort favored by the political elite. They’d love to stop further flights — but they probably can’t.
While the company that Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis used to transport migrants to Martha's Vineyard operates charter flights under approvals granted by the FAA, there's likely little the agency can do to stop DeSantis. https://t.co/aR2h2Eoqa6

On September 14, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) sent a chartered plane with around 50 Venezuelans to Martha’s Vineyard. Last year, the federal government sent around 70 planeloads of migrants to Florida — but just one small plane landing on the island where the Clintons, the Obamas, and many other wealthy Liberals have their summer homes caused panic. The migrants were quickly relocated to a military base safely away from the exclusive resort, but residents are worried DeSantis will send more. If he does, there isn’t much the government can do to stop him.
Flights in the US are regulated by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), which has wide powers to ground flights for safety issues, but has clear limits on its authority. Former FAA officials say flying migrants out of Florida probably doesn’t break any FAA rules, which means the agency can’t ban them. The best way for the Democrats to stop the flights is to fix the chaos at the Mexican border; if they do it, Republican governors will have no reason to fly migrants north.
