Musk Against Twitter – Elon Takes MAJOR Legal Action
(TargetLiberty.org) – Tech billionaire Elon Musk has stepped up the legal battle against Twitter’s former CEO. The entrepreneur wants to back out of buying the social media site because so many of its “users” are fake accounts. Now the platform, which initially fought against Musk’s takeover bid, has decided it wants his money after all.
BREAKING: @ElonMusk subpoenas Jack Dorsey for information about “the impact or effect of false or spam accounts on Twitter’s business and operations”

In April, Musk caused a storm by making a takeover bid for Twitter and striking a deal to buy the company for $44 billion. However, a month later, he announced the deal was “on hold,” after reports suggested 5% of the social media platform’s user base were bot accounts or spammers.
Twitter immediately sued to try to force Musk to proceed, but on August 6, after Twitter had acknowledged the 5% figure was reasonable, Musk revealed that according to a new analysis, 33% of accounts are fake.
Twitter is still going ahead with its lawsuit, and a court date has been set for October, but now Musk has hit back hard. He’s subpoenaed Dorsey, who co-founded the platform and was its CEO from 2008 to 2021, and wants him to reveal the true scale of Twitter’s bot problem and its impact on the company’s bottom line.
Musk says he’s been asking for this information since April, and Twitter isn’t revealing it. If he can force Dorsey to reveal the truth, it’s likely either a court will let him back out of the deal, or he’ll end up getting Twitter anyway — at a big discount.
