(TargetLiberty.org) – A group of conservative friends in their 80s spoke to the New York Times about President Joe Biden’s age and mental abilities following a Special Counsel report which included an assessment on the President’s age and memory.

The group argued that the 2024 presidential election was going to be between “grandpa and crazy.” This was a reference to Biden, 81 who is most likely to be the Democratic nominee, and Donald Trump, 77, who is most likely to be the GOP nominee. However, the entire group argued that they would prefer to have younger candidates in the election.

Jan Kallheim, 83, argued that someone at this age, regardless of how physically active they were, would not have the same acuity that they had at the age of 60. Kallheim, who is a retired nurse, argued that there was deterioration. She further added that while she tends to vote for the Republican candidate, she would not be voting for Donald Trump.

Lorene Bleess, who is 85, argued that at this age she did not think in the same way that she had when she was younger.

Sarah Shankman, 80, who is a Democrat from California also argued that she wished Biden would just step aside. She added that while she believed that “his heart is in the right place” it was his ego that was getting in the way. She continued by claiming that Biden was having a hard time coming to terms with the “inevitable.”
