(TargetLiberty.org) – The Department of Justice (DOJ) is going after state and local governments.
Eric Dreiband, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, said Attorney General William Barr is taking a particular interest in religious freedom matters, especially at the state level.
According to Dreiband, our rights as guaranteed by the US Constitution continue to be violated.
He also noted although religious freedoms were to be respected, he doesn’t see that happening anytime soon.
"We have seen, and I think unfortunately will continue to see, examples of the government attempting to coerce people to violate their religious faith,” Eric Dreiband, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division told CNA on Monday. https://t.co/Xa8RKaKCbv

These freedoms guaranteed to American citizens are much more far-reaching than just the right to worship where we please. They also ensure the right to live, speak, and act according to religious beliefs without fear of persecution.
Dreiband added he hopes “very aggressive enforcement by the Justice Department” will help the public realize that the DOJ “takes religious freedom very seriously, zealously, and vigorously.”
