DNC's Ridiculous Iowa Caucus Leaves Candidates Stunned

(TargetLiberty.org) – To say the Democratic Party’s first primary caucus was ridiculous is putting it mildly. It was so bad that everyone was left wondering if the Caucus results are even legitimate.

As officials across the state tried to use the smartphone app created for the event, they realized it wasn’t working. They then used their back-up plans: a phone call to the Iowa Democratic Party (IDP). Suddenly, precinct caucus leaders were met with hours-long waits, disconnected calls, and chaos.

Around 11 pm eastern time, the party called all of the candidates for a meeting. A short time later, candidates began speaking to the crowds at their campaign events. At that time, no precincts were reporting results. IDP claimed they’d found “inconsistencies in the reporting of three sets of results,” in a statement released before midnight.

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign told IDP they wanted “full explanations and relevant information regarding the methods of quality control” the party was using.

An Elizabeth Warren aide said they were concerned “the process will lose credibility.”

Mayor Pete Buttigieg claimed victory with 0% of the results tallied, and Bernie Sanders released internal data that showed he was ahead.

As of this writing, there’s still no word on who actually won Iowa. The only thing that is certain is the event was an unmitigated disaster. It’s hard to imagine how Democrats in Iowa will ever trust the process again.
