(TargetLiberty.org) – While the election farce drags on into its second month, the Department of Homeland Security is still working hard on President Trump’s promise to protect our nation from illegal immigrants. Contractors are hard at work on the border security wall, trying to meet a key target by the end of the year – and they only have a few miles to go.
A December 14 tweet from Customs and Border Protection Chief Mark Morgan confirmed that the agency still plans to have 450 miles of new border wall built before January 1, and has already completed over 426 miles. Much of the work on the rest has been done, with ditches dug and hundreds of thousands of tons of steel purchased. Morgan is confident the work will be done on time.
We have completed more than 426 miles of new border wall system, and we’re going to meet our mark of 450 miles by the end of the year.
Nearly all of the miles funded for new border wall system are currently under contract. The impact of stopping construction would be disastrous. pic.twitter.com/SPk9Ih5oLJ

This year a lot of attention has focused on President Trump’s diplomatic successes, especially the historic peace deals he’s helped negotiate between Israel and three Arab states. The progress on the wall is a timely reminder that he’s still working hard to protect Americans at home, too.
