(TargetLiberty.org) – November’s midterm elections are still months away, but it seems at least one Democrat candidate is already getting desperate. A wannabe governor of Florida has been reduced to accusing his opponent of “trolling.” All he needs now is some evidence.
Representative Charlie Crist (D-FL) wants to be governor of Florida, and in six months he’ll face Governor Ron DeSantis (R) at the polls to see what Floridians think of the idea. A lot can happen in politics in six months, but Crist is already scraping the barrel in terms of campaign ideas. On March 21, he took to Twitter to tell DeSantis “If you put MAGA trolling over the interests of your constituents, you will lose” – but failed to explain what he was talking about.
We need to make an example out of Ron DeSantis. If you put MAGA trolling over the interests of your constituents, you will lose.
— Charlie Crist (@CharlieCrist) March 21, 2022
Although Crist kept his accusation vague, the most likely explanation is he’s attacking DeSantis’s pro-family and pro-freedom policies. Since being elected in 2018, DeSantis has been a strong advocate of individual rights, and has resisted many of the legislative excesses of the COVID-19 hysteria. He’s also stood up for the rights of parents, insisting they have a right to know what their children are being taught in schools. That has infuriated far-left Democrats who want kids taught about gender identity and Critical Race Theory – subjects DeSantis doesn’t think young children need to hear about.
Is that what Crist means by “MAGA trolling”? If so, he might find Floridians think he’s the troll.
