(TargetLiberty.org) – On Wednesday night, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis received the support of 12 new lawmakers after the third primary debate organized by the Republican National Committee.

DeSantis has been endorsed by state Sen. Brad Farrin from Maine, state Rep. Brett Fairchild from Kansas, state Sen. Adam Lowe and state Rep. Ryan Williams from Tennessee, state Sen. Daniel Zolnikov from Montana, state Sen.-elect Preter Durant from Massachusetts, state Rep. Adam Mathews from Ohio, state Sen. Greg Rothman from Pennsylvania, state Reps Chris Jeter, Shane Lindauer and Robert Heaton from Indiana, and Rep. Ellion Engen from Minnesota.

These were not the only endorsements unveiled by DeSantis recently, as on Friday morning DeSantis also unveiled a new wave of Iowa also announced that he had received the endorsement of Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds.

In a statement, Engen had argued that DeSantis was the GOP’s future. He added that as a state representative in a battleground state, he knew that DeSantis would provide the party with the leadership needed in order for them to win across the United States without sacrificing conservative policies.

Zolnikov added that the world was “on fire” and it was time for the U.S. to get a “serious leader.” He added that DeSantis is the only candidate who has shown that he has the ability to govern in the way that the country deserves to be governed.

Despite these statements of support, DeSantis continues to be far behind Donald Trump in both national and state polls. He recently also attacked the former U.S. president telling an audience during the debate that things were significantly different now than they had been in 2016 and that Trump was also significantly different. He added that Trump owed it to the people to show up to the debates and explain why he should be given another chance in office.
