(TargetLiberty.org) – A House committee released an IRS whistleblower testimony last week in which it is alleged that the Department of Justice had interfered with the investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes.
President Joe Biden’s son Hunter has reached a plea deal in relation to the tax violations, which many including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis have claimed to be a “sweetheart deal.” This week, DeSantis stated that if he won the presidency, he would completely abolish the agency that was in charge of the Hunter Biden investigation.
The Florida governor is currently in second place in the national polls for the 2024 GOP presidential race. This is not the only agency or department that he has threatened. Previously he also claimed that he would abolish the Energy and Education Departments, which were first established during Jimmy Carter’s administration, as well as the Commerce Department, which dates back to Teddy Roosevelt’s administration.
DeSantis while speaking with Fox News host Martha McCallum stated that they would abolish the IRS, and the following three departments: Education, Commerce, and Energy. He did acknowledge that in order to be successful with this move, Congress would need to comply, however, he did not include any additional details on his plans.
DeSantis also did not answer any questions relating to whether certain programs would be moved to other departments or if abolishing the agency that handled the probe into Hunter Biden, other powerful people might try to evade taxation.
Steven Cheung, a spokesman for former President Donald Trump’s campaign claimed that DeSantis did not have “any detailed plans” and that everything he spews is “an incomprehensible word salad with no real details.”
