(TargetLiberty.org) – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who had once promised to be the most “pro-Israel governor in America,” is going to be making his second visit to Israel ahead of what many speculate will be the start of his 2024 presidential journey.

On Tuesday, the Jerusalem Post and Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem announced that DeSantis was going to be visiting Israel on April 27 to deliver a keynote address during the “Celebrate the Faces of Israel” event. This international trip will come after DeSantis’ numerous trips to different states in April. He is currently scheduled to visit Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and Utah.

Throughout his time as governor DeSantis has been a very big defender of Israel and had been a supporter of the Trump administration’s decision to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem. In 2019 he also led a trade delegation to Israel and since becoming the governor he has pushed against companies that have been boycotting Israel. DeSantis has also encouraged state funding that would be allocated towards making improvements to Jewish schools.

This latest trip to Israel is going to take place at a time of tension in the country as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently announced his plans for a judicial overhaul. Following the announcement, there was a large number of protests and worker strikes.

According to the release about DeSantis’ trip, the Florida governor is going to speak about how important the U.S.-Israel relation is during the event which will be attended by around 400 participants.
