(TargetLiberty.org) – On Friday Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis pushed for former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley to provide a clear answer on whether or not she would be willing to join the 2024 Trump ticket. The push for an answer comes after it was speculated that former President Donald Trump might potentially push for Haley to join his presidential campaign as his vice President.
DeSantis argued that both Trump and Haley had spent money against him and that there was a reason they had done that only against him and not against each other. During his campaign stop in New Hampshire, he added that Haley refused to answer directly on whether or not she would accept a possible vice presidential nomination for the former president.
The pressure campaign will continue as Haley has been surging in the national polls and has reached the support of some important Republican mega-donors in the past few months. However, despite her recent climb in the polls both DeSantis and Haley are far behind Trump and they are fighting for second place.
DeSantis stated that if he was offered a position in Trump’s team he would not accept it. He added that this was why he was running for the presidential nomination. DeSantis added that he was completely fine with his current position and that he would prefer to be the governor instead of the vice President.
He added that as the governor of Florida, he would be able to do significantly more for both his country and state.
