(TargetLiberty.org) – On Monday, Biden and White House campaign aides blasted former President Donald Trump for his recent social media post on Veterans Day where he called his political rivals “vermin” who were dangerous to the United States.

Andrew Bates, the deputy White House spokesperson stated that they did not make comments about the 2024 presidential election. As he pointed out, Veterans Day was meant to be a day of remembering all those Americans who had risked their lives in order to protect their country and freedom. He added that Veterans were neither “suckers” nor “losers” but rather people who deserved everyone’s respect.

In his statement, which was released by the Hill, Bates continues by arguing that such terms of dissent would not be recognizable to the founders of the United States, but would be recognizable to all American veterans who had to fight in the 1940s. He added that President Biden believed in the American democracy and constitution and that every day he was working to protect both of these.

Biden’s reelection campaign spokesman Ammar Moussa similarly released a statement noting that Trump had not shown any care towards U.S. troops whom he had referred to as “losers” over their decision to sacrifice themselves in defense of the United States. Moussa noted that while Trump believed he could win by dividing the country he was wrong, and he would discover just how wrong he was in the next election.

On Saturday, Trump stated in his post in honor of Veterans Day that if reelected he would remove all “Communists, Marxists, Fascists, and Radical Left Thugs” who he compared to “vermin” from the United States.
