(TargetLiberty.org) – Congressman Brad Schneider (D-IL) recently released a report outlining what he calls “corruption” by the National Rifle Association of America (NRA). According to him, the alleged actions could put the organization’s tax-exempt status in danger.
Schneider sits on the House Ways and Means Committee which oversees the non-profit sector. He’s accusing the NRA of lying to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), self-dealing (acting in its own interest instead of its members’) and a concerted effort to evade campaign finance law.
The NRA’s tax-exempt status means that American taxpayers are effectively subsidizing a corrupt scheme to enrich the group's leadership. This is unfair to the thousands of law-abiding non-profit organizations as well as all hardworking taxpayers. https://t.co/LxLesFOrjt

If the congressman succeeds in his quest to have the NRA’s tax-exempt status removed, it will damage their ability to raise funds. It would also hurt the fight for gun rights across the country. The organization is the most powerful gun lobbying group in the country and is at the forefront of the battle to protect the Second Amendment.
