(TargetLiberty.org) – Boston, Massachusetts, Democrat Mayor Michelle Wu is currently facing allegations and legal troubles over his alleged discrimination against White people. The lawsuit was brought forth by five restaurant owners in the area, who have claimed that they have faced discrimination because of their Italian origin.

The dispute occurred when the restaurants located in the North End area received a fee for placing tables outside their restaurants for outdoor dining. The Court filing cites that Wu during her St. Patrick’s Day speech on March 17, 2022, had said jokingly that she was “getting used to dealing with problems that are expensive, disruptive and white.”

The complaint is part of a greater debate on which behaviors should be considered discrimination, especially because of the changes in the sense of power held by different communities. According to a poll in May 2022, 40 percent of Americans felt that over the past five years, white people had been discriminated against a lot more.

The lawsuit has been refiled this year, as it was dismissed by a judge in October following a motion by the city government.

In 2022, Wu had ordered that restaurants that wanted to offer outdoor dining areas over the summer would need to apply for a special license that would cost $7,500. They would also be subjected to further payments for the use of parking spaces which would amount to $480 per parking space.

Court documents show that this order only related to restaurants in that area and nowhere else in Boston.
