(TargetLiberty.org) – On Friday, House Oversight Committee Member Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., said on “America’s Newsroom” that President Biden’s staff is overly protective of him and that they should try to schedule more press conferences for him, as well as have him participate in Democratic primary debates.

The congressman further dismissed the questions about the president’s mental fitness following a recent appearance in which Biden seemed to have forgotten his recent trip to Ireland a few weeks earlier.

Khanna notes that as “a person of democracy” he believed that Biden was doing well but that his staff was overprotective of him. He added that they should be more willing to have him do press conferences even if he does make some gaffes. He proceeded to state that anyone could make a gaffe while speaking and that it would be better if the people could see an “authentic President Biden.”

The latest controversy surrounding Biden arose this week after it was reported that Biden appeared to be reading from a “cheat sheet” during a press conference. The card that Biden had included the names, faces of reporters, and the possible questions that they might ask him.

The L.A. Times, whose reporter’s name was seen on the photo of the card posted, claimed that they had never submitted any questions to the Biden team in advance.  The vice president of communications for the Los Angeles Times, Hillary Manning, also told Fox News Digital that they had not submitted any questions before the press conference, but that their reporter Courtney Subramanian always covers the White House and as such she is often in contact with the White House, which might explain why her information was on the paper.
