Defense Secretary Ousts Servicemen, Tests Positive for COVID

(TargetLiberty.org) – Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin caused outrage last year when he ordered all members of the US military to get the COVID-19 vaccine by November 2 or face discharge. Hundreds of active-duty military have already been pushed out – but now Austin has the virus himself.

Thousands of troops requested exemptions on medical or religious grounds – but these exemptions seemed mysteriously hard to get. Now, the terminations are underway; the US Air Force has already discharged 27 airmen, while the Marine Corps has purged 206 Marines. The Army and Navy plan to start separating unvaccinated troops this month.

On January 2, Secretary Austin, who is fully vaccinated and conspicuously wears a mask wherever he goes, announced he’s tested positive for COVID. Obviously, the vaccine didn’t stop him from catching COVID – but he’s still pushing ahead with a process that could see thousands of people expelled from the armed forces because they don’t want the same vaccine that didn’t protect him. And, it could put national security at risk.

If the unvaccinated personnel the US military is currently discharging aren’t more likely to get infected than the vaccinated, what’s the justification for discharging them? That question will get asked a lot when those airmen and Marines start fighting to get reinstated.
