Iranian Regime EXPECTED To Visit The US – Will Biden Allow It?
(TargetLiberty.org) – Should one of the world’s most repressive leaders be allowed to visit the US? That’s the question facing President Joe Biden right now, as the head of Iran’s regime plans an appearance at the United Nations. It’s a clash between diplomacy and morality; will Biden do the right thing?

It’s common for foreign leaders to visit the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, and normally it causes no problems. However, when Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi announced on August 2 that he wants to attend the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, a major problem quickly became obvious. Before becoming president last year, Raisi was Iran’s top judge, and in 2019, the Trump administration hit him with sanctions over his role in human rights abuses and the 1988 execution of left-wing dissidents.
As the political leader of a UN member state, Raisi has a right to attend UN meetings. However, many Iranian-Americans and Conservatives call on Biden to deny him a visa in protest of his human rights record and support for terrorism. Bryan E Leib of Iranian Americans for Liberty said Biden should “send a clear message” by refusing Raisi’s visa. Former State Department Iran adviser Len Khodorkovsky said Raisi deserves his nickname “the Butcher of Tehran” and said giving him an entry visa would “reward the Iranian regime for its assassination and kidnapping attempts on Americans.”
Biden is desperate to resuscitate the Obama-era Iran nuclear deal scrapped by former President Donald Trump and has made major concessions to the hardline regime. Will he have the courage to stand up to Raisi, or will the Butcher get his visa?
