Coronavirus: You're Worrying About the Wrong Things

( – As the coronavirus spreads across the globe, it’s easy to panic. However, chances are you’re worried about the wrong things. The biggest danger at this point is not the virus itself, it’s the media-driven hysteria.

Speaking to “The Ingraham Angle” on Monday, Dr. Drew Pinsky explained that the panic caused by the media is a much bigger threat to the American people than the actual virus.

After reiterating how much more concerning the flu epidemic is in the US and the importance of getting your flu shot, he went on to give real-world examples of the dangers panic can create.

“Travel is down. The supply chain is being interrupted because of panic,” he stated.

The CDC is offering preparedness tips and so is the Red Cross. However, there’s a very fine line between being prepared and going overboard.

One of the best — and most basic — ways to protect yourself and your family is to wash your hands with soap and water.

Clearly, people are panicking — and that is where the real danger lies. Yes, the coronavirus should be taken seriously. Yes, you should prepare. But no, you shouldn’t panic because that is the real danger — and the mainstream media is leading frenzy.
