(TargetLiberty.org) – In August, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) resigned from office over allegations of harassment. At least 11 women accused the former governor of harassing them. A month later, a woman is accusing his brother Chris of similar allegations, albeit on a much smaller scale.

On September 24, Shelley Ross, former executive for ABC News, published an op-ed in the New York Times entitled, “Chris Cuomo Sexually Harassed Me. I Hope He’ll Use His Power to Make Change.” In the piece, she said she was Cuomo’s boss almost 20 years ago. She went on to accuse him of harassing her in a bar in 2005. According to Ross, the CNN anchor walked up and hugged her, then lowered his hand to “firmly grab and squeeze the cheek of [her] buttock.”
Ross alleges Cuomo emailed her after the exchange and apologized for his behavior. She said she didn’t believe he was actually sorry, but instead trying to cover his actions for legal purposes.
In wake of Andrew Cuomo’s scandal, Ross said she wonders if Chris plans to step up and take accountability for his own actions. Instead of calling for him to resign, she argued that he should “journalistically repent” by studying and reporting on workplace sexism and harassment. Cuomo responded to the allegations, saying he apologized to Ross and he meant it.
