(TargetLiberty.org) – China sent a strong signal to Taiwan by flying a huge wave of warplanes into Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) on Monday – then said that the US should refrain from “playing with fire.” It’s the latest move in Beijing’s campaign of intimidation against its democratic neighbor.
On April 12, the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) launched its largest-ever intrusion into Taiwan’s ADIZ, a zone extending out over the Taiwan Straits which is controlled by the country’s air force. The intruder force consisted of 25 aircraft, including a squadron of J-16 Flanker fighters and four nuclear-capable H-6K BADGER bombers. Taiwanese air defense missiles were alerted, and fighters were launched to intercept and warn off the Chinese force.
China sent 25 warplanes into Taiwan's air defense identification zone Monday, the largest breach of that space since the island began regularly reporting such activity in September, Taiwan's Defense Ministry said https://t.co/o3jWwugUDQ

While the US doesn’t officially recognize Taiwan, we supply the country with weapons to protect it against Chinese aggression. Since the inauguration of President Biden, the Beijing Communists have been ramping up attempts to intimidate the country, as well as threatening the US in an attempt to drive American forces out of the Taiwan Strait. Monday’s incursion came just one day after Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the US is committed to Taiwan’s security.
