(TargetLiberty.org) – The leader of Canada’s Conservative Party slammed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday, for allowing Chinese military observers to watch Canadian troop exercises. Calling the prime minister “naive,” Erin O’Toole called for a more serious approach to China.
O’Toole’s comments came after it emerged that Chinese officers were allowed to watch winter survival training at CFB Petawawa, Ontario, in February 2018. At the same time, four Canadian observers were deployed to China to watch the People’s Liberation Army exercise.

Cataloging some of the Chinese Communist Party’s many offenses, including the abduction and jailing of two Canadian citizens and a trade war against Canada’s farmers, O’Toole accused Trudeau of naiveté in dealing with the brutal dictatorship. He said the prime minister needs to work more closely with its Five Eyes allies, because right now Beijing thinks the Trudeau government is weak, and its actions prove them right at every step.
