(TargetLiberty.org) – Seattle mayor Jenny Durkan (D) has finally come to her senses. She ordered cops back into the so-called Capitol Hill Occupied Protest, the anarchic “autonomous zone” seized by left-wing and anarchist protesters two weeks ago. Her decision follows a series of shootings, including the murder of a 19-year-old man on Saturday, which police were unable to either prevent or investigate because protesters blocked their access.
MEDIA vs REALITY: The liberal media has constantly claimed that the CHOP zone has been entirely peaceful and inclusive… but the reality on the ground has shown it to be anything but that. pic.twitter.com/v43QySns2q

However, for some local businesses, Durkan’s U-turn is too little, too late. A group of business owners based in the CHOP zone say that by withdrawing the cops in the first place, Durkan didn’t just interfere with their ability to run their businesses; she put their safety on the line.
The law firm representing the business owners told reporters Wednesday they are suing the city for violating the legal and constitutional rights of their clients. A spokesman for Calfo Eakes LLP said the mayor’s withdrawal of cops and other emergency services from the occupied zone resulted in lawlessness and put businesses and residents in danger.
