(TargetLiberty.org) – Former President George W. Bush has joined other wealthy investors and activists to demand more immigration to the US – despite it already being at record levels. With a growing cost of living crisis already leaving many American workers struggling, many will be asking if this is really the time to force down their wages by importing cheap labor?
Today we – w/30 other diverse orgs – are announcing a new coalition, the Alliance for a New Immigration Consensus (ANIC), to call for bipartisan legislative solutions on immigration/border security during the 117th Congress.

On March 2, the Alliance for a New Immigration Consensus sent an open letter to Congress, calling on the Biden administration to reform the US immigration system. Among other things, the Coalition wants an amnesty for illegal immigrants, reforms of border security and relaxed rules on hiring foreign nationals. The organizations that make up the Coalition are a motley collection of religious groups, liberal pro-immigration groups and businesses that hire lots of low-wage immigrants to replace American workers and drive down wages. Now Bush, and the wealthy Koch brothers, have added their weight to the Coalition’s demands for more immigration.
Meanwhile, Border Patrol agents in Texas report people smugglers are increasingly using trains to bring illegals into the US. Last week, a single CBP station found almost 40 illegals hiding on trains in just 2 days The same station also found a convicted child sex offender in a group of smuggled immigrants. Ordinary Americans are calling for immigration to be brought under control – not increased.
