Colorado congresswoman Lauren Boebert has joined those who want California Democrats Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell to be removed from the House Intelligence Committee. During an appearance on Fox News Unfiltered with Dan Bongino, Boebert said that now that the GOP had won control of the House of Representatives these two “conspiracy theorists” should not be a part of the intelligence committee.

Schiff had previously acted as the former chairman of the Intelligence Committee, but House Speaker Kevin McCarthy had promised that Schiff and Swalwell would not be allowed to stay in the intelligence committee.

Schiff in particular has faced a lot of criticism for being the leader of Trump’s first impeachment trial. He has also perpetuated claims that Donald Trump had ties to Russia. These allegations were frequently used against Trump during the 2016 election.

Similarly, Swalwell has faced Republican criticism after an Axios report in 202 disclosed that he had been the target of a suspected Chinese spy, named Fang Fang, or Christine Fang, who had funded part of his 2014 reelection campaign. However, the reports did not state that Swalwell had not provided Fang with any access to classified information.

Boebert had used all of this information as evidence that the two men should not be a part of the Intel Committee. She further added that the Democrats are clearly functioning with a “double standard” and that if a Republican had been found with a Chinese spy they would have functioned completely differently.

As further evidence of this, she pointed to the way in which the Democratic party had responded to former President Donald Trump being found with classified documents in his possession versus how they are handling President Joe Biden being found with classified documents.
