(TargetLiberty.org) – On Saturday while giving remarks from the White House President Biden gave Israel unwavering support following the recent attack by Hamas, a terrorist group, which resulted in over 1,000 people being injured and hundreds dead.
In reference to the attack, Biden stated that during this time of tragedy, the U.S. was going to be standing with Israel. He added that they were going to provide the Israelis with any assistance necessary in order to “defend themselves.”
Biden’s remarks were delivered from the State Dining Room following the attack on Saturday morning. Secretary of State Antony Blinken was also in attendance during the remarks.
Earlier on Saturday, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister declared war against Hamas which is currently in control of Gaza. The terrorist group had launched a number of rockets and invaded several Israeli towns which resulted in the death of over 100 Israelis2, while thousands of others, many of whom were civilians, were injured.
Apart from the Israeli casualties, the fight that erupted has resulted in over 1,600 Palestinians being wounded while 200 Palestinians have lost their lives.
Biden and Netanyahu had a phone communication earlier that day with Biden stating that they would continue to be in communication. He added that during the call he reaffirmed that the United States would support the Israeli people following the terrorist attack. He also pointed out that Israel had every right to defend its people and land, and that there was no justification for the assault, which is why the Biden administration would continue to be in full support of the nation.
