(TargetLiberty.org) – This week Congress heard for the first time from the families of the 13 U.S. service members that had lost their lives during the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
On Monday, a congressional forum was held with the families of the service members. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., who led the forum, had to hear close to 90 minutes of testimonies from the grieving families about the betrayal they felt from their government. Many of them also called out President Biden and many Cabinet officials stating that they needed to resign.
A father of a fallen U.S. Marine also stated that Biden needed to “be a grown a– man.”
On Monday an official from the Defense Department issued a statement expressing condolences to the families of the fallen service members. Many of the families of the fallen have blasted the Biden administration over the lies they have said about the circumstances that resulted in the death of their loved ones.
The mother of Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover, Kelly Barnett, was the first one to speak before the panel about her son who had dreamed of joining the corps when he was six years old. She then described her son’s deployment to Afghanistan in 2021, stating that they were told they needed to clean the airport so that the Taliban would not find it dirty. She also alleged that Biden officials had lied to her about how her son died, as she was told that he had died immediately. However, other eyewitnesses claimed that he had not passed away straight away.
