(TargetLiberty.org) – On Monday, President Joe Biden defended Israel arguing that the war in Gaza was not a genocide, opposing with his comments the pro-Palestinian protesters who have been claiming the Israeli Defense Forces were committing genocide.
During the Jewish American Heritage Month event at the White House Biden argued that he rejected the idea that what was happening in Gaza was a genocide. Biden has received a lot of criticism over his stance in the Israel-Hamas conflict, with some pro-Palestinian advocates even starting to call him “Genocide Joe” because of his continuous support for Israel.
During the event, Biden stated that the victim in this conflict was Israel because of the Hamas attack on the country on Oct. 7 which resulted in 1,200 people being killed, while taking hundreds of others as hostages.
Biden has maintained that the United States continued to have “ironclad” support for Israel. As he stated they continued to stand with Israel as it fought against Hamas “butchers.” HE added that they wanted to see Hamas defeated and they were currently collaborating with Israel to make that happen.
The negotiations between Hamas and Israel have recently stalled, however, Biden has vowed that he would not be giving up until all of the hostages that had been taken by Hamas were released. Biden retained that they were going to ensure that everyone had returned home “come hell or high water.”
Biden has also been pushing for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, which is a position that he reiterated during his Morehouse College commencement speech.
