(TargetLiberty.org) – Commentators on Twitter were quick to slam President Biden over his response to a question about the alleged bribery scandal which took place during Biden’s time serving as Vice President under the Obama administration.
On Thursday, Biden had been asked by a reporter if he had any remarks to make about Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., a member of the House Oversight Committee, stating that the committee has “damning evidence” about President Biden and the bribery scheme. According to the House Oversight Committee members, a whistleblower recently approached them and revealed that the FBI has a document in their possession that details an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden. According to the reports Biden had received $5 million in a criminal bribery scheme from a foreign national in exchange for influence over policy.
In response, Biden joke by asking where the money was. He proceeded to say that he was joking but that the case is just “a bunch of malarkey.”
Despite Biden’s jokes, many took to Twitter to criticize him, arguing that the alleged scandal was a serious matter.
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, in his tweet, pointed out that while it was “easy to be this flippant” especially when you know that the left will continue protecting you from prosecution, these are serious corruption accusations. He proceeded to note that Biden viewed “evidence of treason” as funny because he believes that corporate media is not going to seriously consider a Democrat scandal.
Federalist senior legal correspondent Margot Cleveland also criticized Biden and alleged that whenever he said he was “joking” he was in fact telling the truth.
