( – The 2024 Biden campaign reelection team has hired Lauren-Hitt, a former spokesperson for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), as an addition to its communications team. The campaign team is looking to beef up its staff ahead of the 2024 election.

Hitt, who had served as the communications director of the New York Representative, confirmed on Saturday in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she would be moving to the campaign team.

Apart from Hitt, the team also hired Andy Crystal, the former lead research producer for “Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj.” According to his X profile page, he will be joining the reelection campaign as a research director.

Several media outlets also reported on Saturday that John Kerry is going to be stepping down as the U.S. special climate envoy in order to assist in the 2024 reelection campaign. The news was first reported by Axios, with one source stating that Kerry believes Biden’s reelection is the “biggest” difference that will make a difference in climate progress.

The former secretary of State was the Democratic presidential nominee in 2004. He has also been a big part of the renewal of the climate negotiations between China and the United States.

The new additions to Biden’s campaign teams come at a time when many prominent Democrats have been criticizing the structure and strategy followed by the reelection team. Former President Barack Obama is amongst the political figures who have expressed worries about the team.
