( – Former MSNBC host and previous White House press secretary Jen Psaki has stated that previous President Donald Trump and his allies are employing strategies reminiscent of Russian President Vladimir Putin. They are doing this, she claims, by trying to connect current President Joe Biden with his son Hunter’s supposed unethical behavior.

Psaki contended that Trump was emulating Putin by attempting to confuse the public regarding the 2024 election. She accused him of trying to tarnish President Biden’s image by associating him with his son’s alleged corruption.

The subject came to light during a conversation on MSNBC with co-host José Díaz-Balart. He brought up how Trump had recently referred to supposed corruption within the Biden family, following his indictment by the U.S. Department of Justice for purported attempts to interfere with the 2020 presidential election.

Díaz-Balart cited Trump’s recent statement on Truth Social after his indictment, which claimed a noticeable pattern where accusations against Biden are followed by attacks on Trump through “Democrat lawfare.”

Psaki was then asked by the co-host whether this would have any future impact, given that the Hunter Biden case is still unresolved.

In response, Psaki sharply criticized Trump’s approach, alleging he had tried to create a scandal involving Biden and his son during the previous election, and was doing so once again. She commented, “Indeed. This is a tactic they attempted in 2020 without success. Politically speaking, it appears they’re using the [Trump Save America] PAC, which is nearly insolvent. They’re capitalizing on Hunter Biden, knowing that it resonates with the Republican base.”

The former White House representative expanded her thoughts, explaining that the aim is to create a false comparison between Hunter Biden’s legal issues and the former president’s alleged efforts to reverse an election’s outcome or obstruct justice.

She summarized the tactics of Trump’s team, asserting, “They desire to create a false balance so everything appears equivalent, and they wish to capitalize on it financially for their PAC.”

Díaz-Balart then questioned Trump’s circle’s attempts to associate Biden with his son. Psaki answered, “Indeed, they are. But there is no substantiating evidence. They will persist, however, as they want to create confusion – not to ‘fuzzy’ the situation, but to muddy it.”

She further argued that this approach resembled a technique used by Putin, noting, “This is a method used by Putin and other autocratic rulers, making everything appear the same. That’s their strategic goal.”
