(TargetLiberty.org) – Biden’s defiant demeanor during a phone call on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” set off a blaze of criticism.

On Monday, President Joe Biden called into MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” using the opportunity to insist he’d remain in the race.

During the call, the President blasted Democratic “elites” and the media for demanding he withdraw from the Presidential race and suggested those criticizing him use the upcoming party convention to challenge him.

Biden revealed he is “getting frustrated by the elites” in the Democratic Party, sarcastically stating they “know so much more.”

He then called on anyone who “didn’t think” he should run to “run against” him and “challenge” him at the upcoming convention.

However, Biden’s tone was quickly torn apart by media commentators and Biden allies on X, suggesting the President could be hurting his chances with those in his party and voters.

Chris Cillizza, a political commentator, claimed the “Overall takeaway” from Biden’s appearance on “Morning Joe” is that the President is “absolutely DARING the party to try to get rid of him.”

Cillizza described the exchange as “Positively Trumpian” and “Defiant bordering on arrogant.”

Jon Favreau, a former speechwriter for Obama, praised Biden’s “energy,” but noted the “Message absolutely sucks.”

He highlighted Biden sounded “angry” and “defensive” and had lashed out “at all the wrong people.”

Favreau insisted Biden should focus his efforts on discussing “voter concerns,” how the President would “address them,” and how former President Donald Trump would “make them worse.”

In response to Favreau’s post, Benjy Sarlin, a reporter for Semafor, noted Biden hadn’t “made much progress” since the June 27 debate catastrophe “convincing Democrats he’s up to the job of beating Trump” but he had “made progress” explaining that if they attempt to “take the nomination and fail,” it would be a “murder-suicide.”
