(TargetLiberty.org) – Florida cops searching for a missing student have found a body, confirmed to be 19-year-old Miya Marcano as of Tuesday, October 5. The chief suspect in her disappearance is also dead in an apparent suicide.
Miya Marcano went missing from her Orlando, FL apartment on September 24. Suspicion quickly fell on 27-year-old Manuel Caballero, a maintenance worker at the apartment complex who police say had entered Marcano’s apartment without permission. Reports say he showed a romantic interest in Marcano, but she turned him down. Caballero was named as a person of interest in the disappearance, but on September 27 his body was found in a garage in Seminole County.
This #MiyaMarcano story is terrifying, man. This is what a lot of us women go through. She rejected that man, and he was the maintenance person for her apartment building. Ended up using the Master Key to enter her apartment. This happens to women more than people hear about.

Now another body has been found, this time near an apartment complex in Orlando. Marcano’s ID was found near the body and the medical examiner confirmed that the body is hers.
Police say they believe Caballero is responsible for Marcano’s disappearance and death, and they’re not looking for anyone else in connection with the crime. Marcano’s family and friends held a vigil outside her apartment after the body was discovered.
Miya’s family has thanked everyone who took part in the week-long search, despite its tragic end.
