Attorney Says Brian Laundrie Went Camping With Family After Fiancé Went Missing

(TargetLiberty.org) – The attorney representing the parents of Brian Laundrie, who’s wanted in connection with the death of Gabby Petito in Wyoming last month, says the whole family went camping after Laundrie returned home without his fiancée.

On September 1, 23-year-old Brian Laundrie returned from a road trip without his fiancée. He and his parents refused to answer questions about what had happened to 22-year-old Gabby Petito. By the time her body was discovered in a Wyoming national park on September 19, Laundrie had disappeared. His parents claim they don’t know where he is.

Now it’s emerged that, after his return, Laundrie went on two short camping trips with his parents at Fort De Soto Park, Pinellas County, FL. This was first reported in tips to reality TV bounty hunter Duane “Dog” Chapman, who investigated the site. The Laundrie’s attorney, Steven Bertolino, initially dismissed the claim, saying, “I will no longer give that dog credibility or dignify his false claims with the time of my reply.” However, now he’s changed his story and admits the Laundries did stay at the campsite from September 6-7.

Chapman claims Laundrie’s parents were also there from September 1-3, and believes Laundrie could be hiding in the area. The official search is still centered on the Carlton Reserve, where the fugitive’s parents claim he went hiking on September 14 – but Chapman says his team has found an improvised campsite, possibly used by Laundrie, near Fort De Soto. Now it’s also been confirmed that Roberta Laundrie has a burner phone, and so does her missing son.
