Attorney General Asks Biden to Replace Mayorkas

( – It’s been a struggle for President Biden to get nominees confirmed to his administration. Now, one of the highest-profile officials he has managed to put in place is under pressure to quit.

On August 13, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich wrote to Biden asking him to fire Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. It’s the secretary’s job to maintain our borders’ security. Right now, those borders are facing the worst illegal immigration crisis in decades, and the buck stops on Mayorkas’ desk. Arizona, one of the states worst affected by the collapse of our border security, has had enough.

Brnovich told the president Mayorkas has been “an unmitigated disaster” for border security and the entire nation. He called on Biden to replace Mayorkas with “a secretary who is committed to the rule of law” and who’s willing to enforce policies designed to keep us safe.

Mayorkas, himself, admits the crisis is out of control. A few days ago, he confirmed they caught 212,000 undocumented immigrants at the border in July, a huge leap from about 40,000 last July. According to a report from Fox News, leaked audio of him speaking at a Border Patrol meeting shows he knows how bad the situation is. He just can’t seem to do anything about it. “We’re going to lose,” the secretary reportedly told agents. We certainly have been losing since he took the job of keeping us safe.
