(TargetLiberty.org) – On Tuesday Andy McCarthy, a contributor for Fox News warned that the impeachment inquiry into President Biden was “more about math than merit” and that if they did not have the necessary votes for impeachment the House Speaker Kevin McCarthy would face a “humiliating loss.”

As he noted during his appearance on “America’s Newsroom” the impeachment inquiry was about math and the Constitution allowed for impeachments to be made for a number of reasons including, bribery, treason, misdemeanor, and high crimes. He added that when it comes to the bribery investigation they already have the necessary evidence of wrong behavior. As he pointed out they even have more evidence than the Democrats had during Trump’s impeachment.

However, this is not a matter of whether or not there is a basis for the inquiry to be opened, instead, it is a question of whether McCarthy has enough votes to get the impeachment through. If he loses in his attempts to raise an impeachment inquiry, or if he does not have the required votes then it would harm the investigation. He added that Rep. Comer was currently handling the investigation well so it would be better to allow him to continue the investigation rather than having to face a “humiliating loss.”

Republicans revealed on Tuesday that they had “uncovered serious and credible allegations” regarding Joe Biden’s conduct which would be the basis of the impeachment inquiry. McCarthy further told the Capitol that he was directing the House committees to proceed with launching an impeachment inquiry into the President as it is the next logical step in their investigation.
