AOC Humiliates Herself With Botched Tweet On Abortion “Facts”
(TargetLiberty.org) – A radical Democrat congresswoman has jumped into the growing internet rows over Twitter and Roe v Wade — and instantly caught herself out. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) tried to slap down tech entrepreneur Elon Musk. Unfortunately, she didn’t bother to check her facts first.
Last week, Musk — who has outraged the Left by buying their favorite social media platform — tweeted a diagram showing how the increasing extremism of the Left has pulled the political center leftwards, leaving former Liberals like Musk to the right of it. That simple cartoon provoked AOC into an ill-tempered Twitter rant, in which she claimed “In Texas, Republicans passed a law that allows rapists to sue their victims for getting an abortion.”

There’s just one problem with that dramatic claim: It’s totally untrue. Republicans have passed no such law, in Texas or anywhere else. Texas does have a tough new pro-life law, but it allows members of the public to sue abortionists, but women who get the procedure are specifically protected. AOC almost certainly knows that, and if she doesn’t she could have found out easily enough.
AOC’s blast of fake news wasn’t the end of last Friday’s clash. Minutes later, she fired off another presumably anti-Musk rant, complaining about how “some billionaire with an ego problem” could control a social media platform. Musk effortlessly demolished her with a short comeback: “Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy.”
