(TargetLiberty.org) – New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) is facing allegations of anti-Semitism after a string of criticisms of New York City’s large Jewish population. The diverse city has a huge number of ethnic and religious groups, all of them currently coping with – and sometimes ignoring – COVID lockdown rules, but Cuomo seems to reserve his public criticism for Jews.
Now, three Jewish congregations in Rockland County are suing the governor for making “negative, false and discriminatory” statements about the Orthodox community. This follows Cuomo’s order to limit the size of religious gatherings in COVID “hot spots” – which just happen to mostly be in Orthodox Jewish areas – to 10 people.
In a horrendous and ongoing anti-Semitic campaign, DeBlasio and Cuomo continue to target Orthodox Jews https://t.co/YszEPgp3G9

Previously, Cuomo has criticized Jewish communities for reopening a playground that had been chained up by state health officials, and holding a wedding ceremony for thousands of unmasked guests. There’s no doubt these actions were unwise, but the Black Lives Matter movement, Muslim groups and others have also broken the rules, so people are asking why it’s only Jews that Cuomo publicly attacks. Is it anti-Semitism, or simply cynical political calculation?
